Domino’s Ireland Says Not Us

Not us Everyone at Domino’s joins the nation and the world in mourning the death of Queen Elizabeth II. Our thoughts and condolences are with the Royal Family.

Domino’s Pizza Ireland distances itself from a solemn condolence message posted by Domino’s Pizza UK after Queen Elizabeth II’s death. The joke is that the Irish account bluntly says “Not us,” playing on the historical and political tension between Ireland and the British monarchy. It is used as a sarcastic reaction to reject association with something overly loyal or ceremonious.
