Cats Staring at Hidden Microphones

Every night my cat sits in this spot and stares at the socket on the wall, sometimes for an hour. Anyone know why? In 1964, two cats at the Dutch embassy in the USSR uncovered 30 hidden microphones in the walls. The staff thought the cats’ obsession with the wall was due to a mice infestation, but found the microphones after knocking down the wall.

A two-panel screenshot shows a cat staring at a wall socket, followed by a supposed historical news story about cats discovering hidden microphones at the Dutch embassy in the USSR. The joke is that the cat may be staring at the socket because it can detect secret surveillance equipment, turning an ordinary pet behavior into a paranoid spy story.
