Ext4 Parameters and Consoles
The "softirq" line gives counts of softirqs serviced since boot time, for each of the possibly subsystem softirqs. The first column is the total of all softirqs serviced; each subsequent column is the total for that particular softirq. 1.9 Ext4 file system parameters ------------------------------- Information about mounted ext4 file systems can be found in /proc/fs/ext4. Each mounted file system will have a directory in /proc/fs/ext4 based on the device name (i.e., /proc/fs/ext4/hdc or /proc/fs/ext4/dm-0). The files in each per-device directory are shown in Table 1-12, below. Table 1-12: Files in /proc/fs/ext4/<devname> ------------------------------------------------ File Content mb_groups details of multiblock allocator buddy cache of free blocks 2.0 /proc/consoles ------------------ Shows registered system console lines. To see which character device lines are currently used for the system console /dev/console, you may simply look into the file /proc/consoles: > cat /proc/consoles tty0 -WU (Ecp) 4:7
EN: A screenshot of Linux technical documentation with two red boxes around the sections “1.9 Ext4 file system parameters” and “2.0 /proc/consoles.” The joke comes from the unexpected juxtaposition of ext4 filesystem parameters and system consoles, turning a dry manual excerpt into an absurd pseudo-meme; it can be sent as a reaction to an overly specific or confusing technical topic.
