Lorenzo de Medici Hosts Great Artists
Patron of the arts Lorenzo de Medici (1449-1492) with Leonardo da Vinci and Michelangelo at his court
A medieval-looking nobleman, Leonardo da Vinci, and Michelangelo sit together at court, each holding a goblet of red wine. The joke presents Lorenzo de Medici as the ultimate patron surrounded by two of history’s greatest artists, humorously framing an elite Renaissance gathering as a casual drinking scene.
