German U-Boats Still Sinking Ships

Are German U-Boats still trying to sink American merchant ships going to the UK or did that mostly end after WW2?

A screenshot of a question asking whether German U-boats are still trying to sink American merchant ships headed to the UK, or whether that practice mostly ended after World War II. The joke is the absurdly literal assumption that the wartime submarine campaign might still be ongoing, making it a reaction to someone being comically out of touch or asking an obvious historical question.
