UK train tickets forged in the fires of Mordor? They're so precious and expensive Why are train tickets so gobsmackingly expensive? I'm honestly baffled! I understand the need for a fair fare, but the prices are nothing short of daylight robbery. The trains are running anyway, with or without me on board, right? So why not just lower the prices and let us hop on for a more affordable journey? At this rate, it's cheaper for me to summon the money-saving prius. All I want is a ticket that doesn't cost an arm and a leg. Everything's backwards. Please share your thoughts, advice, or incantations for more affordable train travel in the UK. Edit for grammar.
