Linux Memory Leak Reply
2.9 G here, and it gaining ~0.1 G / minute. It's been like this for at least a year, but it's definitely gotten worse recently. I also see this memory leak, which may or may not be related. I had to install earlyoom to deal with this (and also the plasmashell memory leak; this is currently using 1.2 G). I'm constantly running kwin_x11 --replace & disown. I'm also on using Arch with Nvidia drivers. Holy fuck that’s severe. Can’t even do that if I want it. You REALLY should go to the bug tracker, that’s borderline unusable. Theres an open issue on there already. !RemindMe 10h
A dark-mode forum screenshot shows a user describing severe, long-running memory leaks on Arch Linux with Nvidia drivers and KDE components. Another commenter reacts with disbelief and says the system is nearly unusable, jokingly emphasizing how extreme the memory usage sounds. It is shared as a reaction to absurdly bad software performance or an especially severe technical bug.
