This is an example of a priest on a pillar.
A robed priest stands inside a small elevated wooden shelter on top of a pillar, accessible by a ladder. The joke is a literal visual interpretation of the phrase “priest on a pillar,” presented as absurd wordplay and a reaction to overly literal explanations.
