Women vs Men in the Middle East

Text on the meme

women's in middle east men's in middle east

What it means

The clip first shows two glamorous women posing together in a desert under the caption “women's in middle east.” It then cuts to soldiers and military footage involving weapons, explosions, and a tank under “men's in middle east.” The joke contrasts an idealized, peaceful fantasy with the chaotic and violent stereotype associated with men in the same region, making it a reaction meme about gendered expectations and war.
