A video moves up a worn wooden staircase, revealing a sleeping golden retriever behind the stair spindles and a memorial plaque for Max, who died on 01-20-23. Ocie Elliott’s gentle indie-folk song “Free” gives the clip a mournful, heartfelt mood and makes the emotional reveal feel even more poignant.
