Save Mario Like Sonic

Text on the meme

Remember when the internet saved Sonic? We can do the same to save Mario.

What it means

A four-panel comparison shows the redesigned live-action Sonic looking much better after the internet's backlash, above two rear-view images of Mario from the upcoming movie. The joke suggests that online criticism could similarly persuade the creators to redesign Mario, specifically his very noticeable butt. It is used to mock character designs and demand changes from studios.
