Cowboy Watches Evangelion
EVANGELION
John Marston from Red Dead Redemption sits in a frontier movie theater and watches Evangelion while “The Cruel Angel’s Thesis” plays. The absurd contrast between a stoic Wild West cowboy and the intensely dramatic anime opening creates the joke, making it a reaction for suddenly becoming overwhelmed or dramatically invested in something. The clip ends with him leaving the theater and returning to the dusty town.
