Hopium Turns Into Hatred
MARCH 2020 HOPIUM Wow, the world is kind of falling apart but maybe this is the catalyst for things improving! MARCH 2021 Yes they deserve to die and I hope they burn in hell.
A two-panel meme contrasts March 2020 optimism with March 2021 hatred. In the first panel, a masked person clings to “HOPIUM” while hoping the collapsing world will lead to improvement; one year later, that hope has turned into bitter resentment and a wish for the unnamed people to burn in hell. It is sent as a reaction to disillusionment after prolonged crises or failed optimism.
