Geek Store Opens in Town

>new "geek" store opens in town >it basically sells Funko Pops and Marvel keychains and backpacks, with maybe a tiny Warhammer selection at 5% off RRP and one or two D&D rulebooks >local newspaper gives it a cringe article with a title like "NEW SHOP TO GEEK OUT COMES TO TOWN" and they take a picture of the overweight staff with balloons and a Spiderman cake >closes after a few months

The meme describes a stereotypical new “geek” shop that mostly sells Funko Pops, Marvel merchandise, and a few tabletop items. A local newspaper celebrates it with an embarrassing promotional article and photo, but the shop soon closes, mocking shallow geek merchandising and forced local-media enthusiasm.
