Year Three of Two Weeks
WELCOME TO YEAR 3 OF OUR 2 WEEK PANDEMIC
Buzz Lightyear from Toy Story appears on a giant outdoor screen with the caption “WELCOME TO YEAR 3 OF OUR 2 WEEK PANDEMIC.” The joke highlights the absurdly long duration of the COVID-19 pandemic compared with the original promise of only two weeks, and is used as a sarcastic reaction to ongoing restrictions or pandemic fatigue.
