Google APN Bypasses Iran Censorship

Iranians just cracked another hole in the regime's crumbling "censorship wall". On MCI mobile data, the default "mcinet" APN routes everything through heavy DPI that sniffs out and blocks VPN handshakes. But operators leave a lighter-filtered backdoor for Google services (Play Store, updates, etc.) to avoid breaking millions of phones. By adding a custom APN named exactly "google.com", the network gets tricked into routing your entire session through that cleaner gateway. Loose string matching in their sloppy config lets obfuscated VPN traffic slip right past the filters. A few airplane mode toggles to force the switch, and boom: connection restored. A screenshot of an English post explains how Iranian users on MCI mobile data can add a custom APN named "google.com" to route traffic through a less-filtered Google-services gateway. The embedded Persian post and Android settings screen show the same workaround for connecting securely with Psiphon. It is shared as an informative tech meme about creatively bypassing internet censorship.
