She Was a Girl, He Was a Boy
she was a girl he was a boy
A gloomy outdoor scene shows a boy and a girl standing apart, with unsettling black-and-white horror illustrations covering parts of the image. The captions parody the opening lyric of Avril Lavigne’s “Sk8er Boi,” while the horror imagery makes the simple romantic setup absurd and eerie. It is used as a reaction to an oddly dramatic or cursed boy-and-girl pairing.
