Americanized Polish Pierogies
Perogies- available in every grocery store in America. Perogies used to be Polish food before being improved upon in America. The Poles use cottage cheese and potatoes, here in America we use real American cheddar with potatoes. To some island nation people this dish would seem exotic, but to Americans this is just our way of life.
A Facebook post presents a plate of pierogies filled with potatoes and cheese. The joke mockingly frames American cheddar as an improvement over traditional Polish cottage cheese and treats a familiar immigrant dish as quintessentially American.
