I am financially ruined (short selling Korean fried chicken companies) Loss I have lost everything, and I'm not sure how to continue. This week I lost $472,085 short selling Korean fried chicken companies. My idea was with the declining Korean population, and the recent trend towards healthier eating and vegan diets, there is an opportunity here. I did some research into consumer trends in Korea and determined that this would be a lucrative play. So I shorted Korean Chicken companies across the board. Unfortunately, earlier this week Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang dined out at a Korean Chicken restaurant called Khanbu Chicken in Seoul, and pictures went viral of him enjoying fried chicken and beer. Stocks of chicken companies in Korea soared 20-30% and I was margin called. Everything is gone. I don't know how to continue. How could I have not known that Korean fried chicken is the future of artificial intelligence?
What it means

A Reddit-style financial loss confession describes someone losing $472,085 after short-selling Korean fried chicken companies. The joke is that Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang eating fried chicken in Seoul supposedly caused Korean chicken stocks to soar, absurdly linking fried chicken to the future of artificial intelligence. It is used as a reaction to catastrophic investing mistakes and ironic market logic.
