Interviewing Gets Better With Experience

I'm about the same. Do you look back at how good you *thought* you were at interviewing with a couple of hundred under your belt? I do and shudder. 😱 Yes. Did ok on the first 1000 but missed on leadership hiring significantly. Did much better at the next 1000 by a wide margin.

A Twitter exchange discusses looking back on early interviewing performance after conducting hundreds or thousands of interviews. The joke is the exaggerated scale and self-deprecating admission that even experienced interviewers can be bad at leadership hiring before improving dramatically.
