HTML Chuck Norris Color Bug
Why does HTML think “chucknorris” is a color? Why do certain random strings produce colors when entered as background colors in HTML? For example, bgcolor="chucknorris" produces a red background: <body bgcolor="chucknorris"> test </body> test Conversely, bgcolor="chucknorr" produces a yellow background: <body bgcolor="chucknorr"> test </body> test This holds true across various browsers and platforms. What's going on here?
A screenshot of a Stack Overflow question demonstrating that invalid HTML color values like “chucknorris” and “chucknorr” render as red and yellow backgrounds. The joke is that the name Chuck Norris is treated as a mysterious universal color code, playing on the exaggerated idea that Chuck Norris can do anything.
