Folk Valley Goes Insane

WELCOME TO FOLK VALLEY Folk valley.

A video starts with a rural road sign reading “WELCOME TO FOLK VALLEY,” then rapidly cuts to increasingly bizarre and intense images: a wide-eyed cat, a chaotic distorted scene, a group of identical bald men at a table, and a red screaming figure. The repeated “Folk valley.” caption becomes absurd through escalation, while Susumu Hirasawa’s dramatic song “Gats” makes the joke feel ominous and epic. It works as a reaction to entering a strange, unhinged place or situation.
