Don't Cry Because It's Over

Text on the meme

Don't cry because IT'S OVER Smile because it NEVER HAPPENED

What it means

A four-panel black-and-white reaction comic shows bespectacled drawn faces shifting from stoic to crying, then smiling and tearing up. It humorously twists the familiar optimistic saying “Don’t cry because it’s over, smile because it happened” into bitter denial, making it useful as a reaction to loss, disappointment, or something that never worked out.
