Smart TVs Snooping on Everyone

I just saw the new @GamersNexus video showing that LG Smart TVs use their sensitive microphones to spy on users, even when the screen is off, and use their networking to snoop on local devices. This was obviously the goal of Smart TVs. Who's the schizo now? HAHAHAHAHAHAHA LG smart TVs caught logging audio with screen off and snooping on local devices Testing revealed webOS logging user voice prompts in plain text. An investigation by Gamers Nexus found LG smart TVs sweep local networks to map phones and nearby devices. Tests also showed the sets can capture microphone audio with the screen off — they then upload data once reconnected to the internet. Anubhav Sharma, Published 09/07/2026 🇩🇪 Home Theater Security

The meme shows a tweet joking about an investigation claiming that LG Smart TVs record microphone audio with the screen off and scan local networks for nearby devices. The punchline is the sarcastic reversal in “This was obviously the goal of Smart TVs” and “Who’s the schizo now?”, mocking people who were previously dismissed as paranoid for worrying that smart devices spy on them. It is used as a reaction to news that confirms an apparently paranoid conspiracy theory.
