Best Buy Removes Half the RAM
Best Buy Removed 32GB Of RAM From A Customer’s Gaming Laptop Because It Said The Laptop “Only Accepts 32GB” A customer sent in a Lenovo Legion 5 with 64GB of RAM for warranty service. The Best Buy repair report confirms the laptop had two 32GB sticks for a total of 64GB. But the technician decided the laptop only supports 32GB and removed one of the sticks. “this unit only accepts 32GB RAM maximum.” The customer was then sent back the laptop with only 32GB of RAM.
A screenshot describes Best Buy removing one of two 32GB RAM sticks from a Lenovo Legion 5, incorrectly believing the laptop supports only 32GB. The joke is the absurdly incompetent repair decision, which literally makes the technician’s mistaken claim true. It is used as a reaction to extreme technical incompetence or careless customer service.
