Gatekeeping Programming

Text on the meme

The bar is incredibly low and always getting lower - we should've gatekept programming

What it means

A YouTube screenshot shows a programmer monitoring a terminal full of system processes while the caption complains that the standard of programming keeps getting lower and programming should have been gatekept. The joke mocks elitist attitudes in software and is used as a sarcastic reaction to beginner-level coding or controversial developer trends.
