VNDB Founder Farewell Post

Rest in peace. VNDB is such a great resource and I hope it will continue operating as it has until now. This type of mindset nowadays is rare and should be preserved at all costs. # VNDB.org does not work with intermediaries. If you work at an advertising # agency, I will ignore you. I will also curse you and hope you go out of # business. Ad tech is cancer killing the internet. Please go and do # something useful with your life. VNDB founder Yorhel passed away on March 17, 2026. He created the website in September 2007, which eventually became one of the largest visual novel databases on the internet. vndb.org/t24787 As many of you have already suspected, the VNDB.org has lost its founder and soul Yorhel, who has passed away on 17 March 2026. He will be dearly missed by the moderation team and by the fans of visual novels. He was a great friend and a great boss. Initially I wanted to wait a bit with the announcment until the moderation team can provide more information about the future of the website, however the rumour mill has forced my hand. At the moment I can only say that we are working on certain channels to preserve the website, but cannot give much information today. Peace.

A series of dark-themed social media and forum screenshots announces the death of Yorhel, founder of the Visual Novel Database (VNDB). The post praises VNDB as an important resource and quotes Yorhel’s anti-advertising stance, while the forum message mourns him and discusses preserving the website. It is used as a solemn farewell and memorial reaction to the loss of an internet community figure.
