GNOME 2 Returns in 2025

Text on the meme

DEAD 2011 BORN 2025 WELCOME BACK GNOME 2

What it means

A split comparison shows an old Ubuntu desktop labeled “DEAD 2011” beside a Windows 11 desktop labeled “BORN 2025,” with “WELCOME BACK GNOME 2” underneath. The joke is that a classic Linux-style top menu bar associated with GNOME appears to be returning in Windows, making the old desktop concept seem resurrected. It is used as a nostalgic, ironic reaction to Windows adopting familiar Linux interface ideas.
