Always Been Brainrot

Text on the meme

boomer: internet is just brainrot these days. Me, an intellectual: Always Been

What it means

A collage of bizarre low-quality video game, cartoon, and internet images appears beneath the caption “Always Been.” The joke is that so-called internet brainrot is not new; absurd and nonsensical online content has always existed. It is used as a humorous reaction to complaints that modern internet culture has become uniquely stupid.
