Linux Kernel Windows Future

There's going to be a Windows build based on the Linux kernel coming in 2027. With Microsoft's ongoing shift to SaaS as part of their plan to unify Windows and Azure under a single modular kernel architecture that merges WSL into the core system. It will allow seamless containerisation after subsystems and full compatibility with existing Linux binaries while phasing out NT in favor of a hybrid kernel for all Windows apps. The codename being floated internally is "Project Helix". seems like a bad idea to lose your exclusivity finally we can get linux bugs and windows malware on the same OS I honestly don't think Microsoft gives two shits about their operating system at this point. you paid your microsoft OS that does everything that every other OS does, and has a unix layer! I literally saw the shit they were reported with NT and you see how they went, NT-2 electronic bagel segmentation fault (core dumped) What's the point? Is this to replace windows server?

A 4chan-style screenshot presents a satirical claim that Microsoft will replace the Windows NT kernel with Linux in 2027 under the codename “Project Helix.” The replies mock the idea by imagining Linux bugs combined with Windows malware and questioning Microsoft’s commitment to its own operating system. It is shared as a reaction to Linux-versus-Windows debates and exaggerated technology rumors.
