Waiting for Backrooms at the Cinema
Waiting for Backrooms
A person relaxes in a dark movie theater with snacks and a drink, eventually putting their feet up toward the screen. The shadowy theater and the feet projected onto the screen jokingly suggest they have been waiting for the eerie liminal-space horror of the Backrooms to appear. It works as a reaction to waiting for something strange, unsettling, or absurdly disappointing.
