The 2005 GOTY competition was insane

The competition for GOTY back in 2005 was INSANE

A fast-paced montage presents dramatic gameplay footage from several 2005 games, including fantasy battles, first-person combat, monsters, and Warcraft scenes, before cutting to a chaotic award-show moment. The joke is that the year’s Game of the Year contenders were portrayed as overwhelmingly intense and stacked, with energetic music making the competition feel absurdly epic. It is used as a reaction to say that 2005 had an unusually strong or “insane” lineup.
