Russian Couple Bedtime Routine

Text on the meme

Russian couple’s bedtime routine according to American filmmakers

What it means

A cinematic close-up shows a couple preparing and drinking several shots of clear liquor before bed. The joke exaggerates the stereotype of Russian bedtime as a dramatic vodka ritual, while the water-like and toilet-flush sounds make the drinking feel absurdly routine and deadpan. The clip works as a reaction to over-the-top cultural stereotypes and melodramatic movie scenes.

Sound

water / вода toilet flush
