A grainy orange-tinted concert video shows Nirvana performing as the on-screen list claims that every beloved song is “Smells like teen spirit DJ remix.” The joke exaggerates one person’s obsession with the same song and the absurdity of presenting a single remix five times as a complete music collection. Nirvana’s loud, energetic grunge performance of “Smells Like Teen Spirit” makes the repetitive gag work as an over-the-top music reaction.
