They’ll Call Me a Hero

They’ll call me a hero!

A bald man in clear glasses and a cream shirt performs dramatic hand gestures and points to himself while the caption says, “They’ll call me a hero!” His exaggerated self-serious performance turns an ordinary, unclear action into mock heroic self-promotion, making the clip useful as an ironic reaction to feeling undeservedly celebrated. The video is set to Megan Wofford’s “Holding on to Hope,” an emotional, hopeful-sounding song whose earnest mood makes the joke funnier.
