What it means

Old Snake from Metal Gear Solid 4 slowly looks around with a stern, world-weary expression while the caption states the obvious: “yesterday was 24 hours ago.” The deadpan repetition, dramatic game footage, and melancholic instrumental music turn a trivial fact into an absurd reaction to feeling exhausted, old, or stuck in the past. The clip uses Гарри Грегсон-Уильямс’s “Old Snake,” whose cinematic, somber mood makes the joke feel unnecessarily profound.
