Programmers Creed Easy Things
PROGRAMMERS CREDO WE DO THESE THINGS NOT BECAUSE THEY ARE EASY, BUT BECAUSE WE THOUGHT THEY WERE GOING TO BE EASY.
A black-and-white image of John F. Kennedy speaking at a podium is captioned as a programmers’ credo. The joke twists Kennedy’s famous “we choose to go to the Moon” idea into a programmer’s experience: taking on difficult tasks because they mistakenly expected them to be easy. It is used as a humorous reaction to overconfident technical decisions and unexpectedly complicated projects.
