The GitHub Dictionary

"THE GITHUB DICTIONARY" repository: 'repos' are big chunks of code that can be edited by Github members "forked" --the term for code editing "pull request" -- e-note sent to the original code writer requesting edit rights WSJ PUT THE VALUATION OF GITHUB AT $750 MILLION AFTER SERIES-A ROUND

A television news segment shows a woman beside a graphic called “The GitHub Dictionary,” humorously explaining basic GitHub terms as if they were unfamiliar vocabulary. The joke is that ordinary software-development words such as repository, forked, and pull request are presented in overly simplistic, incorrect definitions, poking fun at mainstream media coverage of technology companies. It is used as a reaction to clueless explanations of tech jargon.
