Ransomware Locked Me Out
I wrote ransomware for practice. Locked myself out. Paid myself. Still didn’t get the files back.
A video montage shows a bespectacled man in a cap and dark jacket moving through city streets and dim interiors while a tweet about accidentally locking himself out with his own ransomware remains on screen. A crying cat sticker and the dramatic slowed phonk-style funk track, DJ ZBK — “FUNK DA SPRITE (Slowed),” amplify the absurd despair. The joke is a cybersecurity self-own, used as a reaction to making an avoidable mistake and suffering the consequences.
