Editing Videos in a Text Editor
Yes, I created a simple Stack-Based Programming Language that lets me describe how to cut and concatenate VODs and the interpreter automatically translates it to sequences of ffmpeg commands. I've been using this system to edit my VODs for 4 years already. It's called Markut. fucking hell you edit your videos in a text editor?!?!? AHAHAHAHAHAHAHA im done /*-- mode: simpC *-*/ "enable-cc0001-0068.mp4" input dup "Day 1" chapter 2 chunk "243543937-110240192-53050976-a2ee-4a4e-af05-e72e15af958f.mp4" input "twitch-243543937.csv" chat 13:21 1:15:31 0.4 - chunk 1:29:32.7 02:51:29 0.5 - chunk "2436251280-110240192-c5ed97a7-bd59-4396-829d-21c6263ca74b.mp4" input "twitch-2436251280.csv" chat 8:57.7 dup "Day 2" chapter 53:53 0.2 + chunk 54:08.2 1:10:09 0.5 - chunk 1:22:37.8 01:59:36.03 chunk
A screenshot shows a social media post describing a custom stack-based programming language used to edit VODs by translating commands into ffmpeg sequences. A commenter is shocked that the videos are edited in a text editor, while the code below demonstrates the highly technical workflow. The joke is the contrast between an absurdly elaborate text-based editing system and the simple task of editing videos, making it a reaction to overengineering a hobby or workflow.
