Two Japanese People Attempt Conversation
Two Japanese people attempt to have a conversation
Light Yagami and L from Death Note sit across from each other at a cafe table, but the clip shows Light silently drinking coffee while L stares intensely and waits. The joke is that their attempted conversation consists almost entirely of awkward silence and suspicious eye contact, making it useful as a reaction to an uncomfortable or painfully quiet interaction. The aggressive music, “Horseshoes and Hand Grenades” by Pathogen, heightens the absurd contrast between the intense soundtrack and the characters barely doing anything.
