Firefox Users Refuse to Upgrade
~10% of Firefox users are using unsupported operating systems. (https://firefoxgraphics.github.io/telemetry/) 9.8% using version 115 (Windows 7 and MacOS 10.14) 0.3% using version 78 (MacOS 10.11 and earlier) 0.1% using version 56 (Using the security hole ridden XUL api) These are all people too lazy to upgrade or switch to Linux, the fact that Firefox derives so much of its market from such economically unviable users is concerning. Web devs have to suffer by having to support old versions of Firefox, and it just makes devs want to drop Firefox altogether. It's time Firefox tells users to upgrade their shit. Old cars get banned from roads via clean air zones in Europe, its time we had clean internet zones to help increase cybersecurity. The certificate expires will help, but it's long due that Cloudflare starts forcing the latest version to post on 4chan and other publicly postable websites.
A screenshot of a dark-themed online forum post discussing Firefox users who remain on obsolete versions and unsupported operating systems. The exaggerated complaint compares outdated browsers to old cars banned from European clean-air zones and jokingly proposes “clean internet zones” enforced by Cloudflare, turning browser-maintenance frustration into absurd authoritarian satire.
