Virgin Design Pattern vs Chad Runaway Prototype

The virgin "design pattern" The chad "Runaway prototype" Shitty <1k user app Has a mental breakdown from trying to name a variable Spends weeks re-drafting, cries after hitting a dead-end every time Ends up spending most of the time writing abstraction layers for the the eachway Makes a ticket, assigns it, puts it in "To do" and makes a new branch to fix a typo in the README, gets a merge conflict anyway 80k compsci degree Constantly getting dabbed on by the literal ceiling but his inability to follow the style guide TODO: docstring Daily force pushes to master Has guaranteed job security because no other mortal could ever fix this dumpster fire Unilaterally holds together the global banking system and global satellite network The power consumption from all the failed CI builds raised the annual mean sea temperature by 0.5°C Learned everything from copy & pasting stackoverflow answers without reading the question or the answer text

A two-panel Virgin vs Chad comparison contrasts a cautious programmer obsessed with design patterns against a reckless developer using a runaway prototype. The left character over-engineers everything, struggles with naming and style guides, and gets stuck in bureaucracy and merge conflicts. The right character force-pushes to master, copies Stack Overflow answers, and somehow keeps critical global systems running; the joke celebrates chaotic prototyping over formal software engineering.
