Haskell vs Go origin story
Haskell is what happens when 18 unknown virgin researchers (research is not a real job btw) get together to create a language. Go is what happens when 3 chad engineers (one of whom is cofounder of the industry with Dennis Ritchie) get tired of waiting for C++ to compile. Haskell Paradigm Purely functional Designed by Lennart Augustsson, Dave Barton, Brian Boutel, Warren Burton, Joseph Fasel, Kevin Hammond, Ralf Hinze, Paul Hudak, John Hughes, Thomas Johnsson, Mark Jones, Simon Peyton Jones, John Launchbury, Erik Meijer, John Peterson, Alastair Reid, Colin Runciman, Philip Wadler GO Paradigm Multi-paradigm: concurrent imperative, functional[1] object-oriented[2][3] Designed by Robert Griesemer Rob Pike Ken Thompson[4]
The meme contrasts Haskell and Go by joking that Haskell was created by a large group of obscure academic researchers, while Go was created by three legendary engineers who were tired of waiting for C++ to compile. It is used as a humorous reaction to debates about programming-language design, compiler speed, and the stereotypes of academic versus practical software engineering.
