Girlfriend's Intellectual Disability Discovery

I found out that my girlfriend is intellectually disabled and it's really freaked me out. We've been dating for about 6 months now and I just found out that she is considered mentally handicapped by the state and tests at a very low IQ. She is prohibited from getting a drivers license. In hindsight I probably shouldn't be surprised, there were signs. I've witnessed her being unable to operate simple technology, being unable to do basic math, not being able to understand a lot of things or asking me very strange questions like "why is the earth round?" or "why can't penguins fly like other birds?"
