First look at the X-Men in ‘AVENGERS: DOOMSDAY’ In theaters on December 18

What it means

A four-panel teaser shows a shadowy hall, a person playing chess, Magneto in profile, and a dramatic figure standing amid fire and destruction. The joke is the exaggeratedly ominous presentation of the first look at the X-Men in Avengers: Doomsday, making the reveal feel like a dark apocalypse rather than a normal movie announcement. It is shared as a reaction to dramatic superhero teasers or over-the-top fandom hype.
