1998 Screenshots Took Forever

This device could take “screenshots” back in 1998

A vintage Sony Mavica floppy-disk camera is shown in front of old televisions and a VHS/Beta player, then an ancient Compaq laptop slowly loads images through Internet Explorer. The joke is that in 1998, a “screenshot” could be a literal camera photo of a screen, while retrieving the image on outdated hardware took comically long. The retro music, ticking and mechanical sounds emphasize the painfully slow process.
