What it means

A nostalgic screenshot of a Linux desktop running GNOME 2.28, with a chat contact list and the GNOME release notes open in an old web browser. The joke is the extreme retro desktop aesthetic, making it suitable as a reaction to nostalgia, outdated technology, or “desktopcore” vibes.
