The Yaoi Plant

25-33 Araceae Amorphophallus yaoi Philippines

A plant label identifies a species called Amorphophallus yaoi in a leafy garden bed. The joke comes from the scientific name containing “yaoi,” a term associated with male-male romantic fiction, making an otherwise ordinary botanical sign look unexpectedly suggestive.
