Bootleg Phone Bell Instrument

someone explain why this bell instrument is extremely common on bootleg dumb phones Good luck SYMPHONY SIGMATEL BYE BYE Q·mobile XKSTEL

A 51-second montage cycles through blurry or low-quality logos and startup screens from obscure bootleg or feature-phone brands, including “Good luck,” “SYMPHONY,” “SIGMATEL,” “BYE BYE,” “Q·mobile,” and “XKSTEL.” The joke is that these phones share an unmistakable cheap bell-like startup or ringtone sound, presented with repetitive marimba- and glockenspiel-like notes, making the obscure brands feel like one bizarre unofficial phone ecosystem. It is used as a reaction to nostalgic, low-budget technology and oddly familiar bootleg phone sounds.
